The Poseidon

On Monday we checked into our hotel, the Poseidon. It is really beautiful, set into the cliffside over looking the most picturesque panoramic view maybe I've ever seen. We have been getting pretty nice treatment considering Rob forgot to tip the bellman. We were starving when we arrived and the kitchen stayed open to feed us - it was definitely past both of our feeding times, so lunch was huge. We had a lovely meal on the hotel restaurant balcony (nicoise salad and snapper sauteed in lemon with potatoes) and a yummy (but overpriced) dinner that night on the beach in La Cambusa restaurant...ordering right in a restaurant is certainly an art, to be continued in the next blog post.

Bonjourno de Italia!

A lot has happened in the last few days...

I guess it all started when we got married on Saturday. But, since this is a travel blog, we will start with the honeymoon.

We are sipping wine in a bar-internet cafe at the moment. There are a bunch of rowdy italians watching a futbol game across the room.

We arrived in Naples on Monday morning after sleeping very little for the previous 4 days. At the airport, we were excited to learn that we received a free upgrade on our rental car. In our experience, a free upgrade means "we dont have the car you pre-paid for, but we have a car that nobody else wants." once again, that was true. we got to the car rental parking lot to find that we have rented a giant station wagon, which is nearly impossible to maneuver, let alone park, in the windy streets of positano. of course, they had no other car for us, so we loaded our bags in its spacious interior and off we went.

The drive went as well as could be expected considering jills propensity for motion sickness and the extremely windy roads. we only had to make one puke stop! and, it was a false alarm.
